The Task
During my Visual Communication Design class we designed two versions of a promotional poster. The event had to be one that had not occurred previously or be a redesign of an upcoming event that has promotional materials. Each poster promoted the same event but one included photography, the other only graphics and illustration. Each poster needed to be informative and in a clear but creative way provide information about the event, location, date and time. Once we selected the subject, we identified the location of the event and the scope of the audience. With these considerations, we developed a theme and design approach to the posters. There needed to be differences between the two but they also needed to be a clear relationship as a series.
